Steven Alan Hassan, former member of the Unification Church, and now an exit counselor and mental health counselor, has developed his own model (the BITE Model), to determine how destructive mind control can be understood in terms of four (4) basic components, which form the acronym BITE: (1) Behavior Control, (2) Information Control, (3) Thought Control, and (4) Emotional Control.
It is important to understand that destructive mind control can be determined when the overall effect of these four (4) components promotes dependency and obedience to some leader or cause.
It is not necessary for every single item on the list to be present. Mind controlled cult members can live in their own apartments, have nine-to-five (9 to 5) jobs, be married with children, and still be unable to think for themselves and act independently.

Sin and the Temple of God
Sin is lawlessness, that is, not the absence of the law, but active rebellion against the law.
The body is the “temple of the God,” where the “Holy Spirit” resides in the “children of God.”
We are to glorify God in our body and in our spirit, which requires us to get rid of any filthiness and uncleanness of the flesh and of the mind.
The “temple of God ” should be kept continuously clean for God to use as He wills for His glory in being witnesses to the world of His continued presence.
Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. (1st Corinthians 6:18)
What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? (1st Corinthians 6:19)
For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. (1st Corinthians 6:20)
